Will could feel every single one of his organs at once. The worst ones were his lungs. Pushing out a breathless exhale, turning him too stunned to speak.
Richie's grin twitched a little wider, eyes roaming over his face.
“I said, don't talk to him! Leave him alone,” Mike intervened, reaching his arm across the table to harshly shove his cousin, making a few drops spill out of the bottle.
Will watched them land right on the part of the map before him. The lake of secrecy. How fitting.
“Chillax, dude. He's not a child, you know?” Richie chuckled, eyes never leaving Will. “At least doesn't look like one...”
Will's ears burned with how hot they grew at that. At the way he'd murmured that last sentence. As if he was trying to say more than what actually came out of his mouth. As if he was trying to imply something.
