    “You don’t look so happy to see me,” his husband chuckles as he cups his face. It takes everything in him not to jerk away as the man presses their lips together. The kiss is as short and chaste as he can make it, pulling away with a forced smile.

    “I am... I’m-”

    “It smells different in here?” 

    The question makes his blood run cold. Matthew still has his face in his hands and he’s sure the alpha can feel his drop in body temperature, the sour note creeping into his scent. 

    Shane follows Matthew’s eyes to the coffee table. Sitting there is an opened pack of Marlboro Reds. Ilya had opened them that morning, much to his dismay. “I will stop when pup comes!” Now the carton of cigarettes sits as Exhibit A in the adultery case against him.
