The pieces of the night falling together hits him hard like a high pressure hose. The clothes, the restaurant, the wine. Tommy’s foot against his under the table. Buck’s hand on his thigh. This moment, right here, Buck’s warmth and Tommy’s darkening eyes and—oh.
“We were on a date,” Eddie says finally, his voice cracking just a little at the end, and Tommy’s smile widens.
“Finally caught on, have you?”
“This is like the fifth date, Eds,” Buck adds, a bit of laughter in his voice as he looks up at both Tommy and Eddie.

Buck meant the words as a joke, something to try to break the tension, except that Tommy was looking at him with a very serious expression.
“He did,” Tommy affirmed, and Buck was mortified, absolutely mortified, that his best friend was talking to his boyfriend, telling him how they were allowed to have sex while Buck was injured.
And he was also overpoweringly, unbearably turned on.
