"Give me a reason to," she snaps, finally grasping her Slate.
"They're my memories."
Zelda looks at him. Takes in his knit forehead and the desperation she's never seen in him until now. She swallows, struggling to keep her voice from trembling as she whispers, "They're mine, too, Link."
His heavy gaze dips, and for a moment, the crackle of her fallen torch is all there is. The seconds tick by. Five. Five more precious seconds he's stealing from her.
That she's letting him steal from her.
Then, his eyes lift, and he says:
"Let's make a deal."

Summary
“For what it’s worth,” Jungwon starts, unaware that he’s quelling a ghost in Jay’s head, two voices overlapping. Jungwon's is louder. “For what it’s worth,” he repeats, husky voice quiet and honest, “I am glad to have you here, no matter what capacity it is in.”
Jay doesn't think Jungwon should be glad to have him here. No one should be.
His presence isn't a blessing, it's a curse.
There's something familiar about the way Jungwon's gaze lingers on him after he bids goodbye though, like he's trying to say something without saying it.
Maybe all the roads Jay has travelled have led him right here, and maybe, not everything has to end in tragedy.

Amazingly written. I was a bit worried I was not going to be able to follow because I haven't watched Pacific Rim (will do immediately after finishing this bookmark), but the author does a wonderful job at setting the scene/universe. I love how Jaywon's relationship unfolds while we get to discover more about how deeply Jay's traumas run. 10/10!

Jungwon turns to face him, eyes burning. “You don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Jay exhales sharply through his nose, his patience fraying at the edges now, and Jungwon feels a sharp stab of vindication. Finally. Finally, something is getting through.
“You think we care?” Jay says. “That it would change anything? You’re our leader, Jungwon.”
Jungwon flinches. He doesn’t mean to, but the words hit him hard. He wants to believe it... God, he wants to believe it so badly. But that isn’t how the world works, and Jay knows that. Or maybe Jay doesn’t, because Jay is an alpha, and alphas always have a place. Jungwon is the one who might not.

Has to be one of the best omegaverse canon fics I've read in my life. An absolute masterpiece with lots of layers to it beyond an amazingly written and characterized Jaywon. 10/10 would recommend reading!!
