Summary
Wooyoung doesn’t know where he’s going, but he allows himself to be ushered through the forest by something other than himself. He inhales, deep and warm in his lungs, his entire chest expanding with it. He stops and gazes overhead, the branches still heavy with green leaves, not yet turned into a stunning fiery array before they fall and decay. They curve almost protectively over him like a canopy, and Wooyoung wonders how he took so long to wander through here. The shadows around him almost seem to tremble with impatience, or excitement, coaxing him to continue forward. He’s glad he came so early, already regretting that he’ll have to turn back home at some point.

Wooyoung has forgotten the most important parts of his life, although he can't quite figure out what's missing. Following his intuition and the forest which seems to guide him, he's pulled into a world he understands even less than his own, and things get more confusing before they start to finally make sense.

Summary
Thirty years ago, wolves were still widely regarded as mythical creatures. But with the species stepping into the light to live amongst humans, scientific advancements were rapidly made to understand wolf biology. Doctors developed ways to test pups in vitro to determine sub-genders with an accuracy rate of up to 96%. These tests were meant to give parents an insight into their future… a means to raise their children “in a healthy and proper manner.”
An unexpected outcome from this medical breakthrough was the perpetuation of sub-gender stereotypes to the point of obsession. Some expecting parents even going as far as to arrange future mates for their unborn pups based on those genetic test results. Parents practically grooming children to believe one specific thing, behave in one specific way... with one specific wolf.
