He had not let himself be overcome by that ache for their easy companionship; but now, stepping over the threshold into the warm glow of the mansion lighting, all of the exhaustion and longing came crashing down all over him at once like an avalanche.

Summary
Hybrid trafficking has never sat right with Eiden. He can’t stomach the sight of those cages, all that cruelty.
