Shane hadn't expected it at all, especially since he was up against Ilya Rosanov, captain of the Boston Raiders, winner of the Stanley Cup. There had been one other nominee, some player from Colorado, who Shane assumed was only there since there were usually three nominees for MVP. The poor guy didn't stand a chance.
And honestly, neither did he.
