Cipher blinked at him.
“In Phainon’s mouth, obviously,” she said, way too casually, “you’re just overthinking. ”
Phainon is late on Valentine’s Day, stuck at work and drowning in guilt. He walks through the door expecting a quiet evening but, instead, he finds Mydei at the stove wearing nothing but an apron, hiding a set of lingerie underneath.

Summary
Really, he'd never tried to make sense of his feelings. He didn't like to go there, he preferred staying in his comfort zone. Phainon was a complicated man with conflicting thoughts. It was easier to bury himself in work while trying to be there for those he cared about – Mydei very much included. It was just easier.

If Phainon were to describe it, it's akin to something that he'd recreate on his acoustic guitar that he plays with Mydei, chords strum through a smooth finger plucking technique. It's definitely an instrumental to a song, no doubt, and the emotions it delivers stir a little bit of warmth in Phainon's heart.
Except… he doesn't quite recall the lyrics.
