Summary
Astarion struggles to come to terms with the sudden freedom the mindflayer worm has granted him means. Thrust together with an assembled group of do-gooders, he finally gets a taste of freedom and the potential to break his chains forever. After spending centuries luring targets back to Cazador, he falls into the same habit using Tav, this time in exchange for protection. But he soon learns that she is different from his other conquests and fate has more in store for him than the freedom he desired.
