Summary
Banchina was in the ground, the villagers charity ran out, and the village Elders were fed up with the loud, liar, pirate's brat. He was barely eight years old and he stole a loaf of bread to feed himself.
A suspicious ship docked in Syrup Village's tiny port and happened to be looking to 'hire' a cabin boy. So he got sold to slavers and not one adult batted an eye at that.
Usopp isn't pretty like some of the other children so he gets the crusts of ship's biscuits on good days. He learns the meaning of being quiet, and useful to avoid cruelty only to learn new meanings to cruelty.
One day much later they sailed to the arctic north blue. A metal fish attacked the ship and Usopp's fortunes change.

Bokuto has made some bad decisions in his life, but this one may be the worst of all.
The Glock is shaking in his hand, he's just as scared as the bank full of people he's holding at gunpoint, and he knows he can never take this back.
Worst of all, Kuroo is involved, and he doesn't deserve to get caught up in Bokuto's mistakes.

The sirens were closer, peaking to a volume that turned Bokuto’s blood to ice.
“You have to keep it together,” said Kuroo. He’d tucked his hair beneath his hood but it was falling back into his face, plastered to his forehead by nervous sweat. “We’re almost out, okay? Stay with me.”
