Summary
Andrew is going to die in this flying metal death trap, and he’s pretty sure the hot criminal mob-boss guy sitting next to him is staring, but he can’t focus on that part right now, because the plane is fucking going down and he is going to die.

Summary
"“I know you’ve seen me looking at him,” Kevin says, tongue darting out to wet his lips.
Andrew says nothing. Because of course he’s seen Kevin. Kevin watches Neil the same way he watches exy, like he's enthralled in something mesmerizing. Andrew has caught Kevin staring across the court, caught his attention drifting during movie nights, caught the heat on Kevin’s cheeks in the locker room.
Kevin thinks he's subtle. He has never been subtle.
"I’ve seen you looking at him too, you know," Kevin continues."

Summary
"There’s a lamp glowing warm in the corner beside Bee’s bookshelf, soft light catching on the edges of framed degrees Andrew’s never bothered reading before now. That’s where he sticks his gaze, just shy of looking at Bee.
Neil had looked gray when Andrew left the dorm. Gray, like someone had scooped the color out of him with both hands and left behind whatever was underneath. Every sharp bone in his body has started showing through lately - collarbones too pronounced beneath loose shirts, wrists thin enough Andrew can nearly circle one entirely with his hand.
It’s like watching something eat Neil alive from the inside out. Like termites hollowing through wood. The details accumulate under Andrew’s skin like splinters.
“Andrew.”
“He looks like a corpse,” Andrew says flatly."

Summary
"Andrew’s arm slides around Neil’s waist, slow enough that Neil could stop him if he wanted to. He doesn’t. He lets Andrew pull him in against his chest, one arm tight around him, solid and unyielding. Protective, though against what, Neil isn’t sure.
The heat of Andrew’s body sinks into him almost immediately, thawing some of the chill lodged deep in his bones. Neil hadn’t realized just how cold he was until now. He curls closer without thinking about it.
Andrew’s hand spreads flat against his side, slipping under his shirt carefully. “You’re freezing,” he mutters after a minute.
“It’s just cold in here.” Neil closes his eyes and adds, “But you’re warm.”
Andrew makes a quiet, irritated sound at that, but he doesn’t let go. Neil lets himself sink into the warmth instead of thinking about the blood or the pain or the way his body feels increasingly foreign to him. He focuses on Andrew’s heartbeat beneath his cheek. The steady rise and fall of his breathing. Eventually, Andrew’s grip tightens almost imperceptibly around him, like he’s afraid Neil might disappear if he loosens it too much."
OR
Neil isn't feeling well, but he's fine. Totally fine. Nothing to worry about here!

Summary
'At first, he doesn’t register what Andrew’s looking at - just the constant motion of Eden’s swallowing people whole. Then he sees them. Jean and Kevin, off to the side, not quite dancing, not quite still either.
“Huh,” Neil breathes.
Andrew’s expression shifts, tightening in what looks like annoyance. “They’re getting close,” he says, devoid of any emotion Neil could name.
Neil nods slowly, eyes still on the pair. He’s definitely going to have to tease Jean about his crush when they get home. He leans back in his chair, crossing his arms loosely. “I’ll ask Jean about it later.”
Andrew’s gaze snaps back to him. There’s a faint crease between his brows now. “You don’t seem bothered by it,” he points out.
Neil frowns. “I’m not,” he says honestly.
There’s a beat of silence, and Neil wonders if he’s said the wrong thing. Andrew’s expression smooths into something unreadable, but not before Neil catches the way his jaw clenches. His gaze flicks back to Jean and Kevin one more time, then returns to Neil. “Right,” Andrew says.'
OR
Andrew is under the impression Neil and Jean are still dating. Neil, naturally, does not realize this.

Summary
When Andrew and Neil begin hooking up, their relationship is based on a single, murky agreement; they don't objectify or use one another, but there are to be no real feelings involved, either. It works. At least, until Neil develops feelings too strong for his own good.

Sometimes Neil Josten acts like a dead man, and it bothers Andrew more than it should. He figures a good heart to heart will fix it, except he's not exactly adept at those. He's going to try anyways.

Summary
“What did you take?” Andrew demands.
Neil wonders if Andrew will taste all that is wrong with Neil when he kisses him. He wonders if Andrew will recognize it. Andrew knows what it is to hurt himself, and this must be familiar. It’s deja vu, Neil thinks, if only a little bit worse, a little more terrible.
Neil shakes his head, groaning into the toilet, “I don’t want to tell you.”
Andrew pulls out his phone, and Neil can already hear it dialling when he says, “You can tell the paramedics.”
Or; “Cigarettes,” Neil says. “I ate your cigarettes.”
