Summary
A rewrite of Stranger Things starting season 3.
It’s Better to Feel Pain (than nothing at all) : season 3, no-Russians, and explores Will’s connection to the Hive Mind a bit (Will’s POV)Conversations to Connections : A little month to month recount (kinda) of the Byers’ time in California (Byers POV chapter dependent).
I don’t get a choice in the matter (It’s only the death of me) : Season 4 rewrite. No Russia plotline, explore Brenner/El/Henry dynamics a bit more. Explore Joyce a bit more as she will be Hopper and Kali. (Will/El/Joyce POV)
Feel so Tired (but you can’t sleep) : a few disjoint stories between S4 and S5. Going to build Hawkins tension, and build Will/Henry/El tension (Mike/Will/El POV)
You’re not as brave as you were at the start: Mike Wheeler focused s5 rewrite. Explore his feelings that have been building, and his emotional bandwidth as the people he loves the most are closest to the evil they have dealt with for so long (Mike POV)

Summary
He remembers, eyes squeezed shut against the swell of nausea and vertigo that claws through him, being not-quite-thirteen, and listening eagerly to Mr. Clarke explain the science behind dreams.
“Dreams,” he’d said, “are often seen as these sacred experiences, something that has to have a deeper meaning. We have centuries of examples of dream interpretation, the art of examining commonalities between different dreams to find a single interpretation.”
“The thing is,” he’d continued, “dreams are just your brain’s way of processing and regurgitating information; a fruit-salad of information, so-to-speak. Sure, it can mean something, but it’s more likely to be a random grab-bag of facts and feelings that you’ve come across in life.”
A fruit-salad of information. Here, in the dark bathroom at a little past three in the morning, Mike breathes carefully, and tries to dissect where the supposed ingredients of his fucked-up dream salad actually came from.

"What exactly are you calling for, Nancy?"
There was a moment of silence before she continued. "I'm living in Paris—for work. I can't… they won't let him leave the country, and I can't move back fast enough for it to matter."
Will felt his face pale. "What about your parents?"
"They don't want anything to do with him, not after—"
"Yeah, I heard. What about…"
"Will, there's no one else. I've tried."
"Nancy, I can't… I can't just—"
"Please. I wouldn't be asking if there was another option."
Will bit the inside of his cheek. "Okay."
Or: Mike is on house arrest for 6 months and has no choice but to stay with Will, even though they haven't spoken in two years.
