He realized quickly that it was lit by a single fire that blazed brightly in the corner, its light dancing along the gold embellishments that crawled over the edges of the fireplace in an unnerving dance- something about it reminded him of Technoblade.
Quackity’s fingers felt swollen and itchy and hot all at once, but he couldn’t relax the fist he was forming with them. Phil had been nice, borderline welcoming, but Quackity wasn’t about to let his little get-them-comfortable-to-tell-me-what’s-wrong spiel work on him the same way it worked on the man’s kids.
