Summary
John Lennon thinks he’s untouchable walking into Abbey Road in February, 1965. Paul proves him wrong. By midnight Mal is driving John and an injured Paul toward the Scottish Highlands with George and Ringo covering their backs. By the time they reach Scotland, John knows he can’t live without Paul. And maybe they're not alone after all. Canon-divergent hurt/comfort, pining, and unresolved sexual tension.

This is a cowboy fanfic between the two Beatle members John Lennon and Paul McCartney. John is a lost soul rider, and Paul is a sort of posh cowboy who acts like he's into the big city but in reality, he wants to settle down with a nice woman.

"Maybe he's outside? Doesn't he have like farm animals or something?" Ringo suggested, leaning against the doorway of one of the rooms. "He can't have gone far. His wallet and keys are on the kitchen table, and you can't go far without those."
John nodded, leading the group outside and towards the barn. The silence was eery, and George was feeling a bit sick to his stomach after not telling the lads what he'd found in the bathroom. He had a horrible idea floating around in his head, and he was praying it wasn't true. He didn't even dare speak it into existence.
John undid the barn door latch and pushed it open, his eyes widening and a scream tearing from his throat at whatever he saw as soon as he opened it. George nearly jumped from the sound, but now everything was moving in slow motion. John was running into the barn, Ringo's eyes widening as well as he saw what George couldn't yet see.- Language:
