Summary
After deciding to pick up his Mother's pen and continue writing his own story, Durin chases down Hat Guy before he has the chance to leave Mondstadt. He gives his best friend the magic story book containing his tether to fate, knowing theres no one he trusts more to keep it safe than him.
But it seems giving away his story book has come with some unintended consequences, so he flies off to Sumuru to get it back before the problem can escalate further. Only to realize it may not have been the magic of the book pulling him back to his friend at all.
Aka, Durin's lingering dragon instincts gives him a possessive side he didn't know he had, and doesn't quite know how to control yet.

And that’s how Wanderer knows what Durin is doing. Because he’s always sincere and straight forward. Even when Wanderer tries to brush him off it doesn’t deter him.
“That’s pointless.”
“I don’t think so.” Durin steps closer and takes Wanderer’s hand. It’s not the first time he’s done so, but that doesn’t mean Wanderer is completely used to it. Though it’s not like he tries to stop Durin either. “Stay the night with me. We can get a room if you don’t want to be at the Knights camp with everyone there. Or we can stay outside until sunrise. When he stirs from sleep, Durin is already reaching for Asahi before his brain is even working. He knows Asahi before he knows himself when his consciousness first lights. And there is nothing so familiar--nor anything that wakes him up so much--as having Asahi in his arms.
