Summary
The truck's window lowered, revealing a man in the driver's seat. Large, that was your first impression. Tall enough that his head nearly touched the roof of the cab, broad shoulders silhouetted against the dashboard lights.
"Car trouble?" His voice carried a slight accent—European, maybe Austrian or German. Polite. Concerned, even.
"Yes! Oh my god, yes." The words tumbled out in a rush of relief. "It just died on me. I don't know what happened, it was running fine and then—"
"That's unfortunate." He leaned closer to his window, and you caught a better glimpse of his face. Strong features, light eyes that reflected the dashboard glow, short hair. Handsome, in a rough sort of way. "This road doesn't get much traffic at night."
"I could give you a ride," he offered finally. "To the next town. There's a motel there with a payphone. You could call for a tow."
Your first instinct was to say yes—enthusiastically, gratefully, anything to get out of this situation. But years of true crime podcasts and general survival instincts made you hesitate.
You said yes anyway.

Summary
You're born into a well known, properly bred, wolf shifter family. The lineage can be traced back to the world's richest and most elite families. You were destined to be another valuable Omega. But there was a problem. You never shifted. Never presented. It was thought you were just a late bloomer. But when eighteen came and passed with nothing, you became the family shame.
Your family attempts to hide you away so that the world will forget about you, so they could ship you off to live with other 'unables'. The world of Shifters is cutthroat. If you didn't fit in the pack, you couldn't be part of the pack.
All is going according to your family's plan until the four Alphas of the legendary 141 pack arrive. They were meant to find the appeal of your younger Omega sister. But when they cross the threshold of your family's estate, the only scent they can sense is yours.
For you see, you are no broken Omega.
You're a thought to be extinct prize. An Omega whose change can only be triggered by true Mates. The 141 have been searching for you for years. You may be the key to continuing their lines and strengthening the shifters who have been in decline for decades. And they'll do anything to have you.

Summary
"Goddammit," you muttered under your breath, elbow-deep in the rusted guts of the generator. The damn thing had been coughing like an old man with pneumonia for the last ten minutes, sparking intermittently as you twisted wires with bloody fingers. The Entity’s realm didn’t believe in OSHA compliance—not that it mattered when the only thing between you and a gruesome death was jury-rigged machinery and sheer spite.
Behind you, the corn stalks shifted with a dry, hollow sound that didn’t match the stale breeze. You froze, fingers tightening around the screwdriver. Instincts honed by too many trials screamed at you to run, but running was what got people killed. Instead, you exhaled slowly, forcing your shoulders to relax as you pretended to focus on the wiring. Let him think you hadn’t noticed. The air smelled like ozone and something darker—old leather, maybe, or the metallic tang of a knife left out in the rain.
