Summary
It's the summer after Will’s freshman year of college, and he finds himself on Mike Wheeler's doorstep after a painful breakup.
Mike's plan is simple: help Will feel better, spend time with him, and maybe distract him with a little flirting.
The plan works surprisingly well. The problem is that some jokes start feeling a little too real.

Henry Creel was cruel, infuriating, and far too good at seeing through him, peeling apart every lie Will told himself about wanting a normal life when the truth was much uglier: part of Will missed the power the Upside Down had given him. Missed having it.
Now forced into an uneasy alliance with the monster he had sworn to hate, Will found himself pulled deeper into the dark again, where every fight with Henry felt more personal than the last and every step closer to saving Mike and Jane pushed him further away from the person he used to be.

Summary
Will Byers disappeared into the Upside Down for the second time during the Battle of Starcourt in 1985. Two years later, Mike Wheeler is still in denial that his best friend could be dead and pours everything he has into planning the crawls, trying to find both Vecna and any evidence of Will.
