Summary
He doesn't pick up at the first call. Of course. She sighs, annoyed, and calls a second time, her foot tapping on the floor of the kitchen: one ring, two, three and then he finally picks up. The voice on the other side, though, isn't Gihun's.
"Hello?" asks a woman, her voice still heavy with sleep. Eunji blinks, shocked; she looks at the screen of her phone to make sure that she called the right number and she did. Then what-Eunji ex's husband, Seong Gihun, might have gotten himself into some mess after staying out of trouble for years and having turn his life around. Eunji, for the sake of their daughter (and to satisfy her curiosity), decides to investigate who Gihun's new girlfriend is and if she's bad news - which she might be, since she has a husband apparently. Summary
In the mirror, her eyes were still golden. But they didn’t seem as unnatural now. They were warm. Luminous. Like sunrise caught in glass. Like the colour they fought to turn the Honmoon.
“I keep forgetting,” Rumi muttered, “that I don’t have to hide anymore.”
“That’s why we’re here,” Zoey said, nudging her with an elbow. “To remind you.”
Or: A week since everything went down, Rumi finds herself forgetting she doesn't have to keep things a secret anymore. (3 times +1)
