    Even with Lucy at his side, his leg keeps threatening to buckle, to take them both down. At some point, he’d nearly collapsed, and she’d coaxed him into using each other for support as they pushed on. Neither of them is well alert, much less ready for a fight, but Dogmeat’s keeping her eyes peeled, falling behind and trailing ahead as she deems necessary, guiding them down safer paths when she smells danger. The Legion is far behind them, now.

    They haven’t said much since he dragged the girl from the camp, but her thank you still echoes in his ears.

He feels nervous, his palms clammy and voice coming out in scratches."

     

    Six doesn't understand a lot of things. What he does understand, however, is that Boone is a friend.
