Summary
“I was told I would be able to meet with the chef this afternoon,” Beatrice says, as politely as she can manage. She’s meant to start working tomorrow and she hasn’t even met the executive chef yet, outside of traded emails where she was swayed by the promise of full autonomy into leaving her position as pastry chef at one of the only restaurants in the city with three Michelin stars for a fledgling fusion tapas joint sandwiched between a pierogi stand and a vape shop on the lower east side that got an upstart Michelin star in its first year of operation.

Summary
To Ava, nothing had ever been so confusing, so gorgeous, so heartbreaking as the discovery of her own body. And then there was her discovery of Beatrice’s.
Or,
Ava accidentally sees Beatrice naked. It makes the whole "sharing a one bedroom apartment in Switzerland" thing a little more complicated than it was before. A comedy of errors in three acts.

Summary
She had devoted her life to God, to loving Him, but when she met Ava, the girl with a Halo in her back and a smile so bright she couldn’t help but be reminded of Heaven, Beatrice had to admit there was still something holy to be found in that type of love too.
But that didn’t change the fact that whatever Ava’s tongue was doing in her mouth at that moment was downright sinful.

Summary
Home, to Ava, is flannel-backed chairs and worn quilts and lacy placemats and a rocking chair they find abandoned on the side of the road.
Home, to Beatrice, is Ava’s hand in her own as she drags Beatrice through the kitschy home store four towns over and Ava’s shout of triumph when she finds a matching set of salt and pepper shakers and Ava’s waggling eyebrows when they buy the bed that she (again) calls ours.
(Six days in Switzerland, and then a few more afterwards.)
