Summary
Their suits make it awkward. There are straps, zips, and pockets of gear in all the wrong places, but Ava’s hands find the small gaps. The back of his neck, the collar of his shirt beneath his tactical suit. The heat of his skin at his throat.
John kisses her like he fights. Hard and unrelenting but with the ghost of an apology he’s too proud to say out loud. Ava can feel something else too – like he’s afraid to push too hard, afraid to take too much, as though he’s not sure she’ll let him really have this.
Ava silences that doubt by biting his bottom lip.
He groans, low and desperate and hard. The sound goes straight to her core. His hands grip tighter, holding her like she might disappear, pulling her off the wall and grunting as he tries to manoeuvre them both in the tiny space. They break the kiss, and she swallows down air as she pants in the darkness.
“What the hell are you-“ she snarls, stomach sinking with the thought he’s trying to shove her away until she realises what he’s really doing.
There’s a silent beat, then he pushes his thigh between her legs, testing.

“You, uh...you want some company?”, he asked, his eyes flickering over to the empty spot on the couch next to her and Ava froze. Honestly, she wasn’t really sure how to answer that. Because on one hand, yes, she would love someone to talk to right now, even if it was John fucking Walker, but on the other she wasn’t used to spending a lot of one on one time with people and the thought of it was almost enough to scare her away.
She could escape without saying a word, phase through the wall and into the stairwell to head back to her own room, but for a single reason that was too buried in her mind to reach, she nodded.
