Summary
Anna’s seen it all until the night she’s seen too much. Forced into witness protection, the trigger twitchy homeless woman from Black Hawk enters the sphere of the grieving Fixers. Under their roof, she uncovers the loss of a beloved journalist and the sniper who couldn’t save her. Teuta’s murder, impending turf war, and the hit on herself begin to coalesce as all clues lead to Ruy Lopez. Anna usually lets her revolver lead the way, but it’ll take a man with lead in his head and his heart to change her mind – on the assumption they can both put their guns down.
Based on an alternate canon stemming from Shu's Bad Ending. Often grimdark with pockets of sunshine. This fic is a giant country song.
