Derek wakes up but.. he shouldn't have. He should be dead, an eternal prison for the King. But something's happened, whether a curse or a miracle, He's alive. and so is the King. At first he thinks that this is the end of it, just the rest of his life with an annoying voice and a headache.
Until he finds out just how deep this all goes, and how connected Avery truly is to all this.
Now with the begrudging help of the god in his head, he has to find a way to stop this mad cult, all while trying to find a way to save himself.

Instead of deleting the King in Yellow and dying with him, D3rlord3 accidentally merges with his mind. The King in Yellow now coexists in D3rlord3's mind and sometimes takes control over his body as they both try to win at getting Avery's attention.
D3rlord3's in it for love but the King in Yellow takes that to his advantage in trying to regain power over his original vessel. His intentions get lost somewhere along the way…

Or: An AU where Derek found Avery sooner, at the church, and saved him from the drowning. How will this turn of event alter the ending? Is this a good sign or just pieces fall into place, set up by higher being?
