Shisui leaned close enough Shuji could count his eyelashes if he tried. He decidedly did not. Shuji remained on the bench, book resting on his chest, and met Shisui’s eyes without hesitation. Uchiha were always weird, but Shisui certainly came out as top dog weirdo.
“Have we met before? I feel like I would have remembered someone like you.”

You don’t get to choose your family, and while he’d never willingly pick any other, Shuji reluctantly accepted his life was shit.
