Summary
The thing about victory parties is that they blur. Music, confetti, a thousand hands and the taste of cheap champagne pretending to be good—then years later you remember it as a single bright smear across the night. This one should’ve been a smear. It should’ve been the soft landing after four hard years, the moment they all let themselves admit it: they’d done it again. But for Josh and a heavily pregnant Donna this is a night they will never forget for all the wrong reasons.

Summary
Josh is walking with the rest of Santos senior staff at Camp David when Quarried stone gives way beneath him sending him crashing down a steep drop and leaving him Quartered off from the rest of the team by a cave-in, he is trapped with a badly broken leg, limited air and a mobile that only works in short bursts. It’s quickly becomes too late for Josh to escape by himself and he collapses mid-escape, leaving blood in every footprint. He is Quaking from blood loss, cold and adrenaline.
