His sudden voice had cut through the growing silence unexpectedly, causing the child to noticeably jump back a step as his eyes grew a little wider. It was that motion that caused Kirishima to pull himself out of his thoughts as he studied the boy once more.
The child had a white knuckle grip on an envelope, clearly addressed to him based on the name on the front. Paper dangerously close to tearing. His legs were also unsteady, and shaking. In fact, the child's whole body was shaking. He reminded Kirishima of a frightened rabbit, ready to bolt at a moments notice.

Summary
To Macaque's surprise, MK requests a sleepover with him after their Post Season 5 party, saying he wants to learn a new power. Literal fluff and then typical MK angst. Minor Wukong appearances.

MK brushed himself off, peering around. “Okay… the super cool power I wanna know-”
Anxiety spiked in Macaque’s chest. What could MK possibly want from him that wasn’t shadows or chaos or-
“-how do you get all those little monkeys to cuddle you?”
What.
MK pointed to the monkey dozing off on Macaque’s shoulder. “See? He’s soooooooooo cute! I think the island monkeys like me enough, but they really like you! I just wanna know, you know, how to take care of them.”
His relief outpaced his confusion. He should’ve realized MK would surprise him.
“Uh, I guess I wouldn’t call it a power.” Macaque gently scratched the monkey’s head, feeling him shift slightly to be more comfortable. “This is really what you wanted? Monkey cuddling tips?”
“Yeah!” MK nodded eagerly, so excited that he pumped his fist to the night sky above them. “Let Mission Monkey Cuddle Pile commence!”

Macaque nodded and ruffled his hair like Wukong before smirking slightly. “You’ve gotten fluffier!” Mk’s face heated up again. “I have not!” Wukong laughed. “You have! Remember how fluffy we were as cubs?” Wukong smiled at Macaque.
“Yeah, one wash and you puffed up.” Macaque joked back at Wukong, leaving him sputtering. Mk just looked down defeatedly. “Chin up Kid that's good! Use it to your advantage, no one wants to hurt a cub.”

Summary
Wukong believes he killed Macaque during their fight all those years ago, instead Macaque survives and becomes a demon lord (like PIF and DBK). His living status is brought to Wukong's attention quite harshly as the Monkey King is forced to travel to Macaque's home to find his captive successor MK, all without knowing Macaque is the one he's after.

Summary
Having lived through everything he had, this part always felt silly. The sitting, the breathing, and the waiting. His life was in no danger. That the logic of that wasn't enough on its own to ease the pain-- or flush out the stress that made his hands shake-- was as unfair as it was ridiculous. Baser instincts that kept a creature alive were vestigial at best when that creature existed beyond the normal laws of mortality, and yet every demon was still bound to them.
Many could avoid fate. But not even heaven, nor its equals, could escape fear.-
Macaque is invited along to celebrate the new year, and errs on the side of proving a point.
