Summary
The King of Nohr welcomes the news that a new princess has been delivered today.
She’s informed of the news over tea, and while she has grown accustomed to such tidings as a Nohrian princess, this instance feels different.
Different because she is no longer a child herself, but a young woman now more aware of her position in the world. Different because it has only been her two brothers and her for the last handful of years, the castle becoming much quieter as the war with Hoshido progressed. Different because their father grew more tyrannous by the day, and this baby would never see the cheer that once—although brief—shone upon his face.

Summary
Xander breathed in, pondering the increasingly hopeless situation that he found himself in. His eyes were fixed on Siegfried, which lay on the windowsill near the chair he sat upon. The wolves were at the gates, and Krakenburg was about to fall.
He was the Crown Prince of Nohr, and nothing could shake him from his duty. Not the increasing madness of his father, not his siblings’ broken resolve, not the desperate situation he found himself in. Someone had to shoulder the family’s burden, and who, if not him?
The Hoshidan army, headed by his sister Corrin, is at the gates of Krakenburg. This fic is an exploration of Xander's feelings through that process. For the Xander Fanzine.
