Simon glares viciously at the poor excuse of a knot. It’s not the boot’s fault, he knows that. He’s glaring because he has no other option than the one currently at his disposal, and it’s an option he despises with every piece of his wretched heart. But the sun is climbing higher and he needs to get outside to check on the garden. He grits his teeth and forces the words out.

Watching as gentle hands placed the final cards in two, even decks.”War is a game in which opponents must lay down cards against each other in rapid succession, attempting to win not only cards played, but the entire deck. There is no strategizing, no planning, you're not even allowed to view your cards; it is entirely luck based. The player requirement is a flat two, and Grace just so happened to have stumbled upon a classic deck. There's only one other man around for light-years, and he definitely intends on playing. A self indulgent fic involving the authors favorite card game.
