“Hey, phi,” FirstOne said softly, his voice a little unsure. Tle hummed in acknowledgement, waiting for him to continue. “Can I…” He cleared his throat. “Can I join you?”
Tle nearly dropped the bottle of soap he was holding. It’s not like they hadn’t seen each other naked, and he literally was the one who invited FirstOne into the shower. It’s just that a naked and wet FirstOne inches from him this early in the morning might test his already cracking willpower. He did not think this one through.

Summary
Tle didn’t know if it was the drinks, or the crowd, or the late night air that made him like this. He was soaked to the bone, his fingers wrinkled, his body moving along with all the dancing, all the people, with the thrill of the celebration. And his heart was pounding, skipping a beat every time he looked over and saw FirstOne’s wet clothes clinging to his skin.
Maybe it was the way FirstOne just looked so… lovely. Tle couldn’t help it, honestly, when he just started pulling FirstOne towards him, hugging him close, kissing him anywhere he could reach, all under the guise of taking care of his partner. Whatever made him like this- clingy, touchy, needy- he didn’t know, but he had an inkling it had something to do with his very pretty partner.

Summary
Life returned to normal - maybe it had become normal. Regardless, Khem found that living was much easier without his looming death hovering above his head. That didn't mean that they had come away unscathed. He'd thought, naively perhaps, that only he and Paran had been left with scars. He shouldn't have been surprised to learn that Jet and Charn had them as well.

When getting to Khem seems impossible, tactics change, and people fall.
'It was Charn who had remained beside Jet. Every so often, he’d run his hands down to check the pulse, which continued to beat strongly in Jet’s wrist. A constant reminder that there was still light in the newfound darkness. He’d shift the ice around, carefully checking to make sure that the condensation hadn’t dampened Jet’s shirt each time. He’d run the back of his hand every so lightly up against Jet’s neck and cheeks, which had regained much of their color, as if checking for fever.'

Jet ends up in a bit of trouble, and Charn lends him a helping hand.
'Jet had intended to ignore the assholes. He had intended on walking back over to where Charn was currently painting, intended on saying something oddly threatening while asking if he’d remembered anything about the previous night, and intended on then drinking a crap ton of water and heading back to his master’s place.
But now he couldn’t.
It wasn’t even that he wanted to go and confront those assholes; he had to. The match had been struck, and now the need burned something horrid.'
