Andrew quirks a brow. “A demon with an angel’s name.”
“I know. It’s not great for PR, but I didn’t choose it.” Nathaniel waves this concept away with his hand like he’s swatting a fly. Then, he turns to Kevin, and his smile grows wider. His teeth are sharp. Kevin swallows hard. “You must be my charge, huh?”
“He’s mine,” Andrew snips.
Kevin’s stomach tightens at those words. He feels a flush creeping up his neck when Nathaniel turns to Andrew, still grinning like he knows something they don’t. “My, isn’t that interesting? Scandalous, even. Does Daddy know you’re fraternizing with humans?”
Or: Andrew is Kevin's guardian angel. Nathaniel is a demon sent to kill Kevin. Cue the meet-cute.
