Until your body, your cheeks, your mouth.. every single part of you was red like the ripest of the apples—so ready, sweet and soft for him to take a bite out of.

Arceus did not react to the shift. His rings continued their rotation. His pace did not change. You edged forward another few inches, testing, the way you might test the give of ice with one eye on the possible consequences.

The metal of him—it was metal, smooth and warm and carrying that same faint luminescence as the rest of him, more like the surface of something forged than anything biological—was strange under your fingertips. Not cold the way you might expect metal to be. Not hot either. Warm, in a way that felt deliberate, intentional, like the warmth had been decided upon rather than arrived at through circumstance.
You stroked, very gently, along the crown of his head.
Arceus went completely, utterly still.
