Summary
Watching school spirits as i mourn stranger things and i started to imagine them as a variation or combination of characters from the show and how they would deal with what everyone poor kid was dealing in this heartbreaking show. Not everyone is a one for one character which is important to remember but Will being in Maddie's place made so much sense to me and I'm going to do them as much justice as i can.

"Let me take you out," Steve murmurs. His fingertips graze across the back of Jonathan's hand.
Jonathan's fingers twitch. He digs them into the concrete and clenches his jaw. Something in his gut screams at him to say no, but one look at Steve and his wide doe eyes is enough to make his heart do flips. He swallows and nods. "Yeah," Jonathan whispers. "Take me out."

The weird thing about nights like tonight, though, is that they might be cursed but they’re also the only time Jonathan ever gets to see Steve Harrington without it being unforgivingly awkward. Even if seeing him involves being the one helping him onto a hospital exam table and then standing to the side to provide clumsy emotional support, Jonathan will take it.

Summary
“Age of Consent” by New Order blares out, loud enough for Jonathan to hear across the room. He had been there when Steve chose it a few months ago during another war room: “‘Age of Consent’ is good, I guess.”
“It can’t be I guess, dingus! It has to be enough to save you from a brutal interdimensional death!” Robin snapped.
Steve had rolled his eyes. “What’s Vecna gonna want with me anyways, Rob? I’ll do ‘Age of Consent.’”
Jonathan had known, that night, that it might be the wrong choice. But he didn’t say anything because it had been years and he could be wrong and maybe some selfish, petty part of him didn’t want to give Steve the satisfaction of Jonathan still knowing.
Something lifts Steve off of the couch.
“It’s not working!” Robin screams.
And Jonathan knows why it isn’t working. He remembers. Whatever high school bullshit Steve has put him through doesn’t particularly matter in the face of watching him be destroyed and turned inside out. So Jonathan, calmer than he feels, says, “It’s Hank Williams. Do you have Hank Williams?”

Checking to see if I got the right address for you guys. Just in case, you know?
And I thought you'd want to know that even though the kids miss Will and El a lot they're getting by OK so far. Everybody is a little quieter but Mike isn't showing any signs of deppression which I know was like a legitimate concern. But you probably already hear about him from Nancy so I'm sure you already knew.
Anyways you don't have to write back if you just put a big check mark over this paper and do the "return to sender" thing or whatever that works and I'll know you got it.
