So, even though Dick was now arguably more of a member of the Zombie Club than Jason, the rest of the bats didn’t know.
A part of Dick had always known that it would come out. He’d sort of hoped it would be in better circumstances than this.
The sound of shattering glass was deafening, and for one impossible moment, Dick could smell chalk dust and popcorn. The excitement of the crowd in his ears as it played along with a vibrant tune that matched the colours of the tent. The glass caught the moonlight like jewels. Drifting in the air, motes of starlight trailing down around him. Wide eyes behind a mask. Fingers reaching out too late.

Getting a proper look at the mug, Dick couldn’t stop the smile that made its way onto his face as he read the words inscribed onto the glass surface. The Galaxy's Best Big Brother was displayed proudly, and as he did every other morning Dick’s gaze strayed over to where Bruce drank from beside him the words World's Okayest Dad written on the outer of his mug.

Dick took a step back.
And then another one.
His hands came up— not defensively, not exactly, not in the way they came up in the field when there was something to defend against. This was something different. Scared. Something not trained, reaching further back than Bruce Wayne's training and the specific language of bodies that were weapons. Something that came from the animal part, the part that was not a superhero but just a person, and the animal part was doing something that Wally did not immediately have a name for.
