"Öpmüyorum," diye hırıldadı İso, burnunu Fadime’nin burnuna sürterek, dudaklarının kenarını kızın dudak kıvrımına hoyratça bastırıp çekerek. Gözleri kararmıştı ama o görünmez sınırı geçmemek için kendini zor tutuyordu. "Öpmeyeceğim seni Fadime Koçari... Ama bugün benden kurtuluşun yok."

What shatters him even more than the choice itself is the silence that follows it. No one protests. No one fights for him. No one reacts strongly when a gun is pointed at his head. In that moment, Iso begins to understand that he has spent his life choosing others, while no one has ever truly chosen him.
The realization plants the seed of his decision to leave Trabzon behind and disappear from the lives of the people he loves. Unfortunately, he remains on the bridge longer than he should, and that choice places his life in even greater danger, setting in motion the events that will change everything.
