Summary
An American funeral director crosses the road while thinking about coffee in 2016 and finds herself in London in the wrong century, with a messenger bag and absolutely no time to panic because panic has never solved anything.
Her grandfather always warned her about crossroads. She thought he was being metaphorical. Turns out he wasn't.
She has no plan, no papers, and no plausible explanation for anything she knows. What she does have is a mortician's calm that translates surprisingly well into wartime, a brain that won't stop cataloguing, and the unparalleled stubbornness of a woman who intends to survive whatever life throws at her.
Probably.
Warnings: Canon-typical violence & themes. Very slow burn. The author is not sorry.Bookmarked by Runner5ofAbel

Summary
Hodari knelt beside the limp form. He remembered this human, seeing her stop by to see Najuma and occasionally wave at him. They rarely spoke aside from official mining business and even that could be considered a stretch. She would approach with his letter, and he, the man of few words, would end up doing all of the talking. She would nod gratefully and then take her leave. Rarely saying more than a yes or no with a nod. After a few visits he’d learned a few of her expressions, she never said a word to him, but those had always spoken volumes.

Summary
Figuring out who you are, apart from the weight of everyone’s assumptions, your past as an ex B-list celebrity hero, and your estranged dysfunctional family is hard, if not impossible as is.
Add in trust issues and a gaping loneliness that only seems to grow day by day, and now you’re pretty much just going through the motions of a life you'd once hoped was your ticket to happiness.
Still, though, if it’s any consolation, the cute neighborhood guy you have a thing for also just so happens to be the new hire at work… And he might understand where you’re coming from a little too well.

Summary
⚠️ [ABANDONED, REFEER TO LAST CHAPTER FOR REASONING. THANK YOU!] ⚠️
Months after Mecha Man’s catastrophic fall left Robert in a coma, you had been by his side through every grueling step of recovery. Now, as Robert adjusts to life after losing his mech, you find yourself confronting feelings that go far deeper than friendship. And as the days pass, it becomes more difficult to ignore; as somewhere between nearly losing him and fighting to help him heal—physically and otherwise—“best friend” stopped being enough to describe what Robert means to you.
But after everything he’s been through, is now really the time? And would he even feel the same way? And even then, are you too late?
