Summary
The apartment was too small for two people. It was a one-room with a small kitchen on the fourth floor of a building that the landlord described as cozy and which Sakuya described as intimate and which Ryo described as structurally adequate, which was closest to him to come saying he loved it.
There was a kitchen that required them to stand at angles while cooking, a bathroom where the showerhead was too low for Sakuya and the shelving was too high for Ryo, and a main room where the line between study space and living space had long since dissolved into the comfortable softness of two people.
Ryo’s telescope lived by the window. It was the first thing he unpacked when they moved in, positioned with care that Sakuya had watched his chin on his hands, and his heart doing something embarrassingly tender in his chest.
Sakuya’s things were everywhere. Scripts and communication theory textbooks on the coffee table. He has this yellow umbrella which is always by the door.

Summary
So that night Ryo lay on his bed with his phone in both hands and his heart doing things a normal heart shouldn’t be doing when he is this close to bedtime and he opened his contacts and he typed Fujinaga and two names came up…
藤永さくら. Fujinaga Sakura in Hiragana. His Sakura.
藤永咲哉. Fujinaga Sakuya in full kanji. A completely different person. Why was the second name even there?
Or Alternatively: wrong text, right person.

At the next stop, there were usually more kittens, three or four. Ryo had no idea how so many bowls fit inside Sakuya’s backpack. Maybe it seemed too big sometimes, but in truth, it was just the right size.
The size of Sakuya’s heart.

Summary
Suddenly the door in the waiting room opened. Ryo felt like time had slowed down as his eyes met Sakuya’s. The other’s gaze were piercing and cold. Before, Ryo would shiver and would be enraged upon seeing those eyes that were once held warm looking at him but right now all Ryo could feel is happiness. His eyes started brimming with tears as he hurriedly walked towards the other and hugged him.
Sakuya’s composure has finally fallen. The taller expected the other to scream at him, getting mad all over the fact that he hinders all of Ryo’s activity related to dungeons. He didn’t expect a Ryo in tears and a big hug. Ryo has always been smaller than him, but today he felt extra small hugging Sakuya tightly. Sakuya was about to hug the other back when Ryo broke the hug, the smaller one suddenly grabbing his face, a sad smile plastered on his lips, his eyes brimming with tears full of unsaid things and emotions.
“Saku-chan, I’m sorry! I don’t hate you, I’ll promise to not hinder you this time round. Ryo will do anything you say, Ryo will behave now. Just please, please don’t push me away… I’m sorry…” Ryo cried out, hugging Sakuya once again.

Summary
Sakuya Fujinaga, a socially anxious marine biology nerd, spends his high school years deliberately avoiding Hirose Ryo, the effortlessly kind and popular "golden boy," believing he is too inadequate for Ryo’s attention. Unbeknownst to Sakuya, Ryo is equally smitten, but feels too "fake" for Sakuya's sincerity. Their years of agonizing mutual pining and miscommunication culminate when they went to the same college.
