    **Warning! I'm unsure if I'll be finishing this fic. However, if I end up discontinuing it, I will write one last chapter (chapter 8) giving a quick summary of where I planned to take things and end it! That way I won't just be leaving y'all empty-handed. If there are only 7 chapters, I still haven't decided.**

    It was distress from deep within, stored for months at a time as tight shoulders, clenched teeth, avoidant behaviors; but, like the river, it overflowed in a storm. It upwelled as a frigid, furious brine until he screamed himself hoarse, sobbing under the roar of the furnace coals.

    Welsknight finds himself in Season Nine, still haunted by the moon from Eight as his memories manifest in its craters. His past life in the royal guard is catching up--how long can he outrun it? And, for christ's sake, why can't his friends let him do it alone?
