She imagines all of the milestones — the doctor’s appointments, finding out her pants don’t fit anymore, feeling their baby kick, the baby’s birth — and she’s so fucking uninterested in doing it alone that she fumbles for her phone, firing a quick text off to Tim before laying down.

Summary
The damage done to Rohan after the War of the Ring was terrible to behold. By some miracle, Éomer's first winter as King of Rohan was relatively uneventful, but it left Rohan with virtually nothing, on the brink of starvation as his people scrambled to survive and build a new world.
In the meantime, Éowyn is getting married, and is floating on a cloud with Faramir of Gondor. Their new home in Ithilien is being prepared, and Éomer and his éored have made the journey to Gondor for the wedding. One morning, a week before the wedding, Éomer justified going for a quick ride with his sister to himself with the knowledge that his mind would break under the strain of work without rest for over a year - yet on this beautiful morning, Lothíriel, Princess of Dol Amroth, bursts into their lives like a whirlwind.
Éomer can't help but think she might be just the solution to his problems, and Lothíriel cannot help but agree, despite the fact that she does not love him... but all is not as it seems. The War of the Ring was but a year ago, and danger still lurks in dark corners of the world.
