Summary
Nezumi is the last of the FireMasters - people who can create, control, and consume fire at will. Despite the threat Nezumi promises, Shion can't seem to acknowledge this danger over his own impulse to keep the last FireMaster beside him.

Nezumi didn’t understand this guy. Squinted at him. “So you’re fine that a stranger is waltzing into your home and drinking your coffee out of your mug for no apparent reason.”
Shion raised his eyebrows. “You didn’t just waltz in, I invited you in. And just because the reason isn’t apparent doesn’t mean there isn’t any.”
“Are you aware of stranger danger?”
Shion smiled. The guy, Nezumi was beginning to realize, was not normal. “Sure. You don’t seem dangerous to me.”
Nezumi weaved his fingers through his bangs to push them off his forehead. “Maybe you haven’t heard – I’m the last surviving FireMaster. Summary
New summary because the old one was not very summarizing, not that any of my summaries are fantastic but let's just get on with it, all right:
Shion can read minds, an ability more overwhelming than he was prepared for when he moved from his small hometown to the city for university. In the city, he meets Nezumi, whose mind is much different than anyone's Shion has read before. Shion breaks his own rule by telling Nezumi he can mind read, intending on never seeing the man again - an intention that, of course, does not quite pan out.

Summary
There's no way to give a decent summary of this without spoilers, so here's the brief version:
After attending the same grade school but never speaking, Shion and Nezumi meet in college, where Nezumi is the librarian's assistant and Shion finds himself frequenting the library for more reasons than the books. The start of their relationship is easy and incredible, in a way that doesn't seem able to last...Preview:
As Shion was leaving, he stopped at Nezumi’s doorway, where Nezumi had followed him. The roommate had fallen onto his bed, and an arm dangled off. Shion stared at his arm from the doorway, the way his fingers nearly touched the floor.
“Shion,” Nezumi said, and Shion looked up, wondered if Nezumi would kiss him again, waited with his heart in his lips, ready to offer it to this man.
But Nezumi only smiled, a small smile, not amused or smirking but just happy, if a bit tentative. The side of his face was illuminated now by the light of the television screen.
“Goodnight,” he whispered, and Shion thought maybe this small smile lit up by the light of the television screen was even better than a kiss.Bookmarked by Sebast_chan
