Summary
"...[Fëanor] died; but he had neither burial nor tomb, for so fiery was his spirit that as it sped his body fell to ash, and was borne away like smoke; and his likeness has never again appeared in Arda, neither has his spirit left the halls of Mandos."
What if his spirit has never left the halls of Mandos because it never went there in the first place?
Fëanor, dead, watches the First Age unfold, and his children endure. A detailed account of Maedhros and Maglor's time on the Eastern Front of the War of Wrath, with Elrond and Elros growing up. [Thanks to pp for beta reading]Series

Bookmarker's Notes
Time for a (potentially) hot take: the X Men are better than the Avengers regarding both film canon and comics. And yet! The glories of crossover in such a smooth way are coordinated well by TheSovreigntyofReality, with character-appropriate ethics and dialogue.

"Grantaire," he says slowly. "What do you have in that box?"
Grantaire looks up at Enjolras, his eyes very blue even with the glaze of drunkenness at the edges. "A favor," he says.

Now, I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the Les Miserables musical. Shoot me, I much prefer Hugo's work, specifically the Donougher translation. However, this is exactly the kind of work that gets me invested in a fandom, and remains my favourite LM piece I have found. Though, as you can infer, I am hardly well-versed.

Summary
The titans have won the war, the child of the prophecy was killed, and what remains of the demigod alliance is hidden underground. Many believe that the great prophecy was false, and that another will be revealed in time, but the sudden introduction of a new face throws everything into question all over again.

One of those pieces that if I have a long train or plane journey ahead of me, I'll make sure to open entirely on on a tab just for those off-wifi times. A long comfort read with nobody feeling out of character, just grown up. I haven't been able to find any AU where the Titans won that feels as satisfying, as gripping, or as comforting as this does.
