    Summary

"Well isn't he just the tits," Thancred drawled, eyes fixed on the large monitor where the rising god of the Arcadion addressed the Warrior of Light from the top of a flying car painted with flames.
"The eye is certainly drawn to them," Y'shtola said dryly.
"Really? I hadn't noticed," Kate lied.

Past the Far Edge of Fake...

Kate's been fighting her awkward way up the chain of Ascension Arcadia until one last fight stands between her and a prize that means more than the silly tin crown--freedom of the souls stored in the Arcadion's depths, and a cure for the soul-rot that plagues the young fighters who've become her friends in spite of (more likely *because of*) not knowing a thing about her past. Her biggest challenge? She can't just fight her way to the cure--she has to *sell it.* She'll be judged on her showmanship...and she can't act her way out of a paper bag.

But the gauntlet's been thrown and when she meets the opponent who threw it she quickly realizes that her problem won't be that she can't act--it'll be that she *isn't* acting. The gloves are off and so are the filters in the lead-up to the match, and it's even odds as to whether the pants will come off, too...

    Summary

The Warrior of Light, three Lightwardens deep into trying to prevent the Eighth Umbral Calamity, save the First, and find a way back home for her friends. She does not have a hell of a lot of time for self-care of any kind. And the mercurial attentions of one Unsundered Ascian are leaving her with questions she's afraid to ask--like is he flirting with her or just fucking with her head. The only one she seems to be able to open up to happens to be a shade that not even Y'shtola can sense. And Ardbert seems to be the only one she can actually help these days, because while she's overwhelmed with conflicting feelings, he hasn't been able to feel *anything* in centuries. It's by accident that they discover she can help him with that, but the exact nature of how is something she's very willing to pursue to great lengths and with *very intentional* determination that only a Warrior of Light can bring to bear.

    Summary

Aymeric’s face turns white. ‘I had heard… stories but I always thought they were hearsay. Tales to scare children.’

Estinien laughs weakly, because he’s seen twenty seven summers and he’s fucking terrified. Aymeric’s jaw sets.

‘Well. ‘Tis a good thing I don’t scare so easily.'

There were always rumours. That fey folk come out of Ishgard’s underbelly every year, to lure away children for their war.

Alberic Bale is one of them.
