"If,” He clears his throat. “If it helps you, then…” He shifts, folding his hands behind his back. He can’t seem to meet his eye. "Then, we could… try it again."
Viktor places the chalk down with a clack. "Then, come here, Jayce.”
Weeks have come and gone from that fateful night in the lab. Weeks have gone by since Jayce felt the soothing strokes against his scalp.
Viktor knows how much he wants it: the cotton in his brain and the sweetness on his tongue. He knows that Jayce wants to bend his knees and find that peace.
And yet, alas, Jayce is nothing if not stubborn.
But so is Viktor.
