He saw you briefly through the amber colored liquid in his shot glass.
He had just been taking another swig like he did every day at this exact bar, at this exact time. In this. Exact. Seat. His life playing out in the same monotony, and he liked it that way.
But then, he saw for that brief second in his shot glass, a toothy grin. Followed by a faintly feminine laugh gracing his right ear.
So, as any man would do, wanting to see a dumb bitch most likely getting hotted up in the bar. He looked.
But he didn't expect to see... you.

Well, screw him.
“I’m not that easy to break, you psychopath.” You spat with venom. “You're an insufferable, intolerable prick. Take the hint: I’m not interested. Find some other creature who is sick as you and leave me be.”
He gives you a knowing look. “How can I do that when you’re the only one who can make my heart beat?”
