Most of the world was born seeing color, but for Kim, there had only ever been one. Her parents said it was called green. They said a soulmate was a gift. On days when the loneliness ate her alive, she reminded herself that someone else was feeling this too. Someone was waiting for her, and when they met, the punishment would all be worth it. Because a soulmate was a blessing. It was certainty. It was safety. It was a promise that her heart would never break.
Shego hated the way that people talked about soulmates. She hadn’t asked for a perfect other half. She hadn’t asked for someone to complete her. She just wanted to be normal; she wanted to be whole. She hated her soulmate for existing, for making her incomplete, for trapping her in this stupid black and white and green world. She wanted more. She wanted colors. She wanted a choice. If she ever met her soulmate, she would tell them to rot in hell.
Taking a break from writing for a couple months, I'll update this when I'm back. I promise it's not abandoned!

The last thing Detective Ryu Rumi needed after a long day at work was to find Zoey—best friend since college and paramedic extrordinaire—frantically trying to quell the flaming mess that once was their tiny apartment's stove. What she needed even less was said friend proceeding to call her out for her horribly-timed crush on the responding Fire Lieutenant. Oh, and there’s an arsonist on the loose, too.
Lucky her.

Summary
Rumi considered it—she normally gave in quickly—but the way she’d looked at her before she kissed her neck, and the way she’d reacted to Rumi threatening to leave and finish herself off, was echoing around her brain. She was forming a theory, and she needed to test it.
She hooked a finger under Mira’s choker, pressing her knuckle gently against her throat, and tugged. She felt more than heard the way it made Mira’s breath hitch. She did it again, and this time Mira’s nails dug in deeper involuntarily.
Which was a very interesting reaction.
While Zoey's away Mira learns something new about Rumi.
