Summary
After a night out with friends, Mike wakes up with a pounding headache on an unfamiliar park bench and no recollection of how he ended up there. He is soon greeted by State Inspectorate Officer Jade Sanders, a hyena, who is responding to a call regarding a runaway male. The problem is, Mike isn't from the Anthrostate, he's from our reality. He's read about the Anthrostate, but he has no idea how he ended up here.
As Jade convinces a worried but hungry Mike to come with her, the truth is revealed, and as the two get to know each other, a bond begins to form. A fateful decision at a diner on the way to the Assignment center will change both of their lives forever. As Mike gets used to life in the Anthrostate, he faces culture shock, grief at the loss of his past life, and all the challenges of navigating a relationship with an eight foot tall hyena.

Summary
This is an origin story/lore about the birth and formation of the Anthrostate. You don't need any knowledge of Anthrostate lore to read this.
The fires of the Second World War burn all of what it touches. America was forced to enter the war when England fell to Nazi forces in 1939. Only Ireland remains free, a small exiled government struggling to its last. Secret advanced weapons have gotten into the hands of Germany's army, their sudden appearance unexplainable. Strange rumors among the soldiers talk of creatures that are half-man, half-animal. Even Japan and Italy have these beings, supposedly. That's only an urban legend from soldiers and civilians that escape to the free world, however. A lot of them don't talk about it, broken by trauma. Resistance is difficult, and countries fall easily. It's only a matter of time until the Americas face their wrath.
That's where you enter. From an officer in the United States Army, you get recruited by a shadowy organization to utilize your true talents. You quickly learn that these beasts are very real, and you've been entrusted to stop them.
