He sighed longingly, looking at the empty chair across from the table he sat at as he snacked on the treats in front of him. “Everyone may leave. I wish to be alone.” He waved his attendants off watching them walk off of the pavilion after bowing towards him. “Not you Bakugou.” Katsuki huffed silently, making Eijirou chuckle. Once everyone was far enough Katsuki turned to face his Prince. “So everyone else gets a break but I don't? How tyrannical of you. I think I should get a raise.” Katsuki said snippily. Eijirou only laughed, his smile wide and bright.

That boy had challenged Bakugou to a dance. He wanted to look away, to avoid watching, but he couldn’t. He tormented his heart, which was pounding and screaming for him to go over to them and get that boy as far away from Bakugoou as possible.
“That’s what you get for taking so long.”
“What are you talking about, Monoma?” He didn’t answer, just gave him an annoyed look. Kirishima swallowed hard. “Did Tetsutetsu tell you?”
“He didn’t have to. I can smell it coming off you a mile away.”

Katsuki chomps the last of his lobster roll. "Besides drowning?"
Eijiro snorts. "Nay, be serious. Like limbo. Always liked that city folk sailor word - the fathoms - 2 meanings. Don'tya think that's a metaphor for life? A contemplation of something we can't wrap our mind around, like we're almost in the shallow sea of our own head. I feel like that a lot, I don't and never will fit in."
How did their lighthouse trip on the cliffs turn to real talk?
"What, being indig in Halifax? So, you'd rather sink?"
"Been thinking that all the time."
No way Eijiro can, Katsuki won't let that be as he then turns to him.
"Fuck that. You're you, not your damn skin." He swallows hard to say, meeting eyes. "You're better than anyone I know, Ei."
"My skin matters to me."
Chucking driftwood into the throes, they watch it sink then rise. "Hm. Floating is for losers; in a place where we sink or swim, I know you're strong like the trees."

Katsuki learns a lot about himself and new ideas through a new friend he isn't "supposed" to have.
