Summary
I began calculating the likelihood of successful escape along several different potential routes. The numbers I got back from risk assessment were depressing. Yeah, my risk assessment module was borked, but that meant these odds were optimistic. None of the routes were above 10 percent, and most were sub 3, except-
There. I highlighted the route- 73 percent chance of success. What was left of my face must have pulled into an expression, because I got hit with a flurry of system warnings (and pain). I checked the cameras along the path. No signs of movement, no visible hostiles. It was a clear shot straight through.
I didn’t like that.
After finding itself injured in the middle of a violent corporate takeover of a small, unassuming port, Murderbot accepts the help of the nearest non-hostile MI - and finds itself in the den of a rogue ComfortUnit. Uncomfortable conversations are had for both parties about the situation, which is made all the more complicated by unaccounted for humans (as humans are wont to do) and a very accounted for Asshole Research Transport (as it is wont to do).

“We can’t keep going on like this. Milldread can’t keep going on like this.”
“It’s not the first hard year we’ve had,” Bernie sighed, turning her attention to the groceries, “but we know how to pull through. Milldread’s not an easy town, but her people are hardy folk.”
“What about those who aren’t?”
Everybody’s hurting, but Milldread’s schoolmarm won’t stand for it

That’s you!
That, right there, there in the mirror, with the eye bags and the cataracts and the moles that weren’t there thirty three years ago—that’s you, that’s really, truly, undoubtedly you.

Summary
Sometime in the latter half of the 80's, two strangers miss an appointment with fate. One is thousands of miles away from home. The other is as close to home as he'll ever get. Neither ends up in a particularly unusual boarding school in Upstate New York.
Somehow, they still manage to cross paths, courtesy of a small bar in Southern Ontario and a beat-up old van. Fate's funny that way.

Summary
It's been years since Doctor Ryland Grace saved Erid and Earth. He is content with his life, happy just to teach the next generation of Eridians and have the occasional game night with Rocky and Adrian in his dome. For the most part, nothing changes.
And that's the problem. Shouldn't Grace, y'know...age? When Rocky indicates that he should be sixty human years old by now, Grace can't reconcile the young face in the mirror with the time that his friend has religiously kept.
Things get more complicated when another undoubtedly human ship shows up at the edge of the 40 Eridani system. Suddenly Grace is playing ambassador between the two species, and tensions are rising between them. Will this be a successful second contact, or is the peaceful life Grace just wants to live too much to ask for?

Summary
It’s been nearly 27 years since Eva Stratt forced Ryland Grace to board the Hail Mary and sent him off to his death for the greater good of mankind. Meanwhile, Eva and the Project Hail Mary team have been fighting a losing battle against the cooling sun—and their own demons—trying to make sure there were still people to be saved by the time the crew could send a solution home. Right on schedule, the beetles are returning to Earth, hopefully with the answer to saving the world. But Eva has something else to worry about; there’s every possibility Ryland Grace’s last words would be coming home, and all the time in the world couldn’t make her ready to face the consequences of her actions, or what will happen when her colleagues find out what she did to their friend.
It was time to find out if it was worth it for her to sacrifice Grace, and her soul, to save humanity. And to find out if she was ready to face him after all these years…- Language:

It's becoming increasingly obvious things can't go on like this.
Milldread keeps to itself, and cares for it's own.
The harvest this year, really, isn't anything to sing about. Someone needs to do something.
If not her, who else?

Summary
What was it like, to become a God of storytelling? To suddenly be able to not just see the very writing of the world around you- but reach out and touch it? Change it? What was it like becoming something you could never even conceptualize before?
AKA, a somewhat abstract retelling of Click Clack's ascension from his point of view.
Now with a bonus chapter: INTERMISSION, a slightly less abstract retelling of his ascension, from Thespius' point of view!
