Shin wakes however many hours later, head still pounding, mind still reading, and feeling like he’s about to throw up. Fuck, he thinks as he rushes to the bathroom, it’s not just a headache.
It’s a full-blown migraine.
Once Shin has emptied his stomach of everything it had and then some, he’s left sitting on his bathroom floor. The pulsating has not gotten worse, but it hasn’t gotten better either— he’s still picking up the thoughts of his neighbours, and he almost entertains the thought of silencing them. Almost, but not really. He's read the rulebook cover to back.

He should be excited. But, he isn't. The pit in his stomach grows deeper, and he doesn't think it's just worry for Winter, anymore. His mind feels sluggish and slow. Which is. Unusual. But, he can't seem to figure out what's wrong...
