Jax really meant it. And watching the expression on Gangle's face subtly shift into one of tightly wound mental distress did nothing but convince him he'd said the right thing. Who else would tell her the truth? That's what he was here for anyways, and letting off a tiny bit of steam her way in the midst of this fast food themed hell of an Adventure felt good. She deserved it for picking this stupid blue-collar shit for today's Activity.

Summary
The absence of Caine, unfortunately, makes way for something worse. Out of pure desperation, the gang rescues him from deletion in hopes he can save them from being deleted too.
Caine gets another chance to prove himself, though he's not sure he wants to, and he still doesn’t understand how it all went so wrong in the first place.
Nobody really wants to die here. Nobody really has much of a choice on how to make that happen. And certainly, nobody is really happy with their former tormentor(s).
But…any port in a storm, right? And maybe with a little patience and effort and compassion, they can all learn to just...live.

Pomni never liked Caine all that much, but that doesn't mean she wants to watch him be *whipped* and *tortured*.

Summary
Complete and absolute deletion would mean the end of the circus. It still stood, even if torn. However, without a fully functional AI attached to its framework, it is bound to slowly fall apart.
The former ruling AI hopes, from the bottom of his nonexistent heart, that his dear humans may find a solution and worthy substitute... before the deletion timer hits zero.-----------
AKA: Cain ends up in the recycling bin. He won't be there for long, however. A terminal is soon retrieved by the humans: Any restored files are sent back to their original drive. Perhaps a fate worse than deletion.
