“Are you good, George?” Sapnap asks, after the wriggling has become near constant.
“Yes,” George says, rushed and a bit squeaky.
Sapnap pauses the video. “You’ve reached the fun part.”
“It’s not fun,” George spits. “It sucks, and I feel sick, and my head hurts, and —”
“I mean, I can help you, if you want,” Sapnap says.
“What?”
“I’ll help, if you want me to,” Sapnap says, trying to tamp down the electricity sizzling up his spine and keep his voice as casual as possible.
“Really?” George says.
“Yes. What else am I gonna do, wander round the shittiest city in the world on my own for five days while you suffer through your heat alone?”
There’s a steady silence. Sapnap sets the laptop on the floor next to the bed, trying to avoid looking at George, in order to to alleviate some of the tension and pressure, but his gaze is dragged back to those dark, honey-rich eyes no matter how hard he tries to resist.
